The Car manufacturing industry is very important to the United States. With three of the largest manufacturing brands in the world based throughout North American (GM, Ford and Chrysler), it is essential for these companies to not only manufacture quality vehicles, but also develop new manufacturing techniques. From improving the safety of vehicles through the manufacturing process to increasing production as well, all of this rests with each automotive company.

The public television series “Champions of Industry,” hosted by Jimmy Johnson, is producing a segment revolving around the car manufacturing industry and new developments associated with it. There are many different improvements in car manufacturing that have taken place over the last few years, all of which are designed to both improve production, increase safety features and help the auto industry make better vehicles for the general public. While the auto industry essentially invented the assembly line, there is always room for improvements, and this episode focuses in on these different improvements and how the production and assembly of vehicles has changed in the last several years.

The award winning series “Champions of Industry” has won 85 Telly Awards over the last decade. It is not affiliated with PBS and is individually produced and distributed to different public and commercial television stations around the country. All of the educational short documentaries focus in on changes made in society and in common industry.
